My Journey into Development
My path into software development wasn't traditional. I started university as a biology major, planning a completely different career. Then, on a whim, I enrolled in a web development elective during my first year. That single course changed everything.
I fell in love with the creative problem-solving, the immediate feedback loop, and the ability to build things that people could actually use. By my second year, I'd switched to Computer Science and never looked back. After 4.5 years, I graduated with my Bachelor of Science in Computer Science, right as COVID hit.
Graduating during a pandemic made job hunting tough, so I took to Upwork and started taking any contract work I could find. My first real project was a Laravel-based e-commerce site for a flower store. The client eventually ran out of funding, but I'd learned how to onboard quickly, work with existing codebases, and communicate with real clients.
That hustle led to my first official role at Koridor, a startup where I got my hands dirty with production code and learned what it really takes to ship software. The startup life was intense, but I loved it.
Eventually, I co-founded Zelio, where we built TheTenPercent, a social media platform designed for people with disabilities. We architected the entire application, launched on iOS and Android, and built a full MVP. Along the way, we also designed and developed websites for clients using Framer, including zelio.io. While we're wrapping up operations now, building something from zero to app store was an incredible learning experience.
Today, I'm focused on taking everything I've learned, from freelancing to startup founding, and applying it at a growing company where I can contribute to established products while continuing to learn from experienced engineers.

Co-founded development company and served as System Designer & Technical Lead for enterprise-scale projects. Led distributed teams across Toronto and Pakistan, delivering $100K+ in project value.
